Ever wondered what painted tissue looks like or how to do it?
Painted Tissue Ideas For You To Try Out
This beautifully light, painted paper has so many uses and is really good fun to create.

My latest YouTube tutorial is all about this fun way of painting.
In the tutorial, I show how I create my painted papers and how I use them to create journal covers.

There are different types of tissue paper you can use.
For my latest video, I used two types.
I used some delicate white tissue that came from packaging and not intended for crafting.
And I also used some wet strength tissue to show the differences between the two types.
The results are quite different – the painted tissue from packaging had a much more delicate look and feel to it.
The wet strength tissue was more robust to use but had a look and feel more in line with very fine deli paper.

The two different types of paper have their own pros and cons.
If you are thinking about creating your own painted tissue, it’s worth trying both kinds of paper.
I loved the look and feel of the more delicate recycled tissue paper.
After painting, it was very soft and pliable.
However, during painting, it was too easy to tear because it is not designed to get wet.
The wet strength painted tissue is much more robust.
However, it doesn’t have the delicate, floatly feel of ordinary tissue paper.
Having said that, I really loved using the wet strength one because it has its own merits.
It feels a bit like deli paper and it has a nice smooth touch to it.
In my video tutorial, I show you exactly how I achieve the look I got in my painted papers.

The painted tissue above looks almost like it’s been tie dyed.
This is what I love about painting with this method – the results can be really pretty and you don’t need to be a painter.
Anyone can get really good results with painted tissue, you can’t really get it wrong.
So if you are someone who longs to paint but stands back through fear of ‘messing it up’.
This method is absolutely made for you.
There are, of course, those who would love to have a go at painted tissue but perhaps don’t have time.
You may love the textured look of the crumpled tissue but have no time to sit and paint.
Or maybe you don’t have the space where you are.
Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered!
As my regular readers and viewers will know, I give away free printables with every video I make.
And my painted tissue tutorial is no different.
What I have done is scan three of my finished pieces of tissue and turned them into A4 printables.
But that isn’t all!
I have also showed you a technique in the video so you can achieve the textured ‘faux leather’ look and feel if you use the printables to make journal covers.
So even if you aren’t able to create your own painted tissue right now, you can still make journal covers with the same look.

You can use these painted tissue free printables for a variety of crafts.
You can use them in collage, scrap-booking, art journalling, bead making – whatever you decide.
So all I need to do now is give you the link to go get them!
As always they are stored on Google Drive because having them stored on my website makes it data heavy.
This is the link to my crushed tissue free printables. It will take you to Google Drive and you DO NOT have to pay.
My printables are all free to download and use.
They are available in JPEG and PDF formats.
All I ask you to do is read the very few Terms and Conditions I have and respect them.
If you have any issues with getting any of the supplies or tools I use in my videos, take a look in my Amazon shops.
I do have most things I use, or similar items, in my shops.
Please do your research before ordering anything and READ REVIEWS as well.
I have not personally used everything listed in my shops – they are there for you as a guide to what you can get.
And finally…
