Printable abstracts can give real inspiration, accompanied by that lovely feeling of, – what shall I make today?
And for once, I am not telling you what to make, or showing you what I made.
Why? Well next week, I will be publishing a video showing how I painted the abstract background that this design came from.
I want to show you how easy it is for non-artists to create a large abstract painting like mine, really quickly.
And I will also be showing you what I made with my free abstract prinbtables.

Free abstract printables are one of the most flexible tools you can have in your stash.
Unlike themed or figurative prints, abstract artwork doesn’t tell you what it has to be.
A swirl of colour might become a pair of paper earrings.
A bold geometric pattern could turn into gift tags, journal covers, or layered wall art.
That freedom is incredibly refreshing — especially if you sometimes feel blocked by perfectionism – we all know that one!
One of the biggest benefits of using free abstract printables is experimentation without guilt.
Because they’re free, you can cut them up, glue them down, resize them, recolour them, and generally play to your heart’s content.
Try slicing shapes for collage backgrounds, making paper beads, or punching out tiny motifs for cardmaking.
They’re also brilliant for mixed media — tear them, sand them, ink over them, stitch through them.
Abstract designs love being mistreated!
They’re wonderful for personal projects too.
Use them in art journals to express mood rather than meaning.
