DIY bracelet ideas ‘Terri style’.

Looking for DIY bracelets – ideas that look impressive but are inexpensive to make?

Well my latest YouTube tutorial about DIY bracelets may be just what you are looking for.

With inspiration from a fellow crafter in ‘the land down-under’, I created these two bracelets with paper and recycled plastic.

DIY Bracelets

My long distance crafter buddy, Terri, very generously sent me a handmade tote bag full of her gorgeous craft makes.

Most of the crafted items in the bag were new to me and may well be of interest to other crafters.

Terri kindly sent written instructions about how to make most of the items.

So that means I can have a go at all her makes and share the results with you.

First out of the bag of Terri’s goodies are these DIY bracelets.

For my tutorial, I chose to use the top and bottom bracelets in this picture, for my inspiration.

But I will be doing the other two in another video, along with some gorgeous bangles from Terri’s collection.

I chose these two DIY bracelets for my first challange because I have made similar ones in the past.

Always best to ease in gently with a new project!

These are a few DIY bracelets from my past posts – similar to these newer bracelets.

And another bracelet using free printables – see that post here.

These DIY bracelets are all made using free printables from 2020 and 2021.

What is different about these, compared to the DIY bracelets I’ve made ‘Terri style’, is the way they are strung.

The way Terri made her bracelets has a much better bracelet base which is a brilliant alternative to stringing the paper beads.

So do watch my full tutorial to see how I made the new bracelets Terri’s way – it’s brilliant.

The best thing is, you can go back to my past free printable designs and make bracelets using this technique.

You can find all my past and present free printables listed here.

There are a few Terms and Conditions attached to downloading and using them.

There aren’t many but please respect those I do have – thank you.

When I started this challenge to create bracelets inspired by Terri’s creations, I didn’t do a practice run.

That’s me all over, straight in there with the belief (hope maybe?) that it will all work out fine.

So what you see in the video is literally my first attempt at putting my paper bead designs on a totally different base.

I also took the opportunity to incorporate some magnetic clasps that I had never had a suitable project for in the past.

So that was a slight deviation from Terri’s technique because hers were bangles to be slipped over the hand.

And I will be making some of those in a future video, as there were a couple of variations in the collection.

I’m pretty sure my viewers will enjoy making them.

Below are the magnetic clasps I used in the video.

If you want to instantly add class to your DIY bracelets – metal clasps really help add substance.

You can get them in my Amazon shops (links further down) if you can’t get them locally at independent craft stores

As always, I urge you to buy locally if you can before all our craft stores disappear.

The magnetic bracelet clasps I used – they come in three colors – gold, silver and black.

The black version of the clasps.

These clasps are easy to use once you get them figured out!

I did have fun and games with that, as you’ll see in the video.

And I’m sure there are crafters out there who can come over to YouTube and leave comments about how you fit your clasps.

I did get there in the end and I already have ideas about how to fix them on much more easily next time.

This is the joy of crafting – the learning that never stops!

The clasps with the silver finish look really good too.

I used the gold and silver ones in my tutorial but the black ones will look really smart on some designs I have lined up.

They do add weight to the bracelet for people who prefer something a bit more weighty.

But the bangle style ones Terri did are perfect for summer as they are light and easy to wear.

That’s about all I have to say, apart from two things, news about what Terri’s new songwriting channel and, introducing my latest free craft printable.

First, the lady who was the inspiration behind my latest bracelets has branched out from crafts into the music world.

Terri has written poetry and lyrics for many years and now, with the help of modern tech, she is able to set them to music.

Her lyrics and poems tell stories and are entertaining to listen to.

So please visit her new channel Tezza – (The Wordsmith Cafe).

I’m sure she will be thrilled if you want to subscribe – but please do take a look and listen to her songs.

OK – now your free printable!

Here it is below- the link to where you can download it from my Googledrive is directly beneath the picture of it in the caption.

It’s also over on my free printables page.

You can download the JPG and PDF formats and use in your crafts.

Thanks for reading my DIY bracelets post – hope you enjoy making the bracelets.
